01Service and applicable terms
Shelf is a macOS file search and organization tool provided by its developer. Follow these terms and applicable law when using the app or website. Apps acquired through the Mac App Store are also subject to Apple’s standard end user license agreement and applicable store terms. This document does not replace that agreement or limit mandatory consumer rights.
02File authorization and responsibility
Only authorize files you are entitled to access, process, and share with relevant third parties. Shelf does not move, rename, or delete source originals, but reads contents and stores an index. Optional Finder output creates or updates category folders and aliases. Keep independent backups of important files and verify search and category results before relying on them.
Do not use Shelf to infringe privacy or intellectual property, process data unlawfully, damage systems, or violate third-party service rules.
03AI services, keys, and costs
AI features require your own OpenRouter API key, available credits, and a network connection. Usage is billed to your third-party account separately from any app purchase. Follow OpenRouter’s terms and relevant model or provider rules. Protect your key and revoke it when needed.
Third-party APIs, models, prices, and account permissions can change. APIs such as Jev may not be available to every account, which can affect features. Removing a key from the app does not revoke it at the third-party service.
04Accuracy and availability
Semantic search, generated names, and categories can be incorrect, incomplete, or unsuitable. Shelf cannot guarantee finding every file or correctly understanding every passage. Verify results and do not use them as your sole basis for legal, medical, financial, or other important decisions.
We aim to maintain the product but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Networks, disks, system permissions, third-party services, and your settings affect availability. Features may change in later versions.
05Purchases, subscriptions, and refunds
This website currently takes no payments, sells no apps, and offers no subscriptions. After launch, app prices and any in-app purchases or subscriptions are shown on the App Store product page and purchase confirmation. Apple purchases follow Apple’s payment, subscription-management, and refund procedures; use Apple’s problem reporting service for refund requests. OpenRouter usage and refunds follow its own terms.
06Privacy, rights, and responsibility
Read our privacy policy for local data, AI requests, and website access. You retain your rights to your files. These terms do not exclude or limit liabilities, statutory warranties, consumer remedies, or personal-data rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
07Changes and contact
We publish updated terms here with an updated date and communicate material changes through an appropriate channel. Contact support@shelf-finder.site with questions about the terms, service, or privacy. The Chinese and English versions are intended to convey the same meaning; please contact us about any ambiguity.
